Shelby, MT

We just got to Shelby, MT. We stopped here to store some stuff before going into Canada. Before we left White Sulphur Springs, I checked with Montana DOT on road condition we would be driving. It showed clear roads. As you can see, it was passable but very snowy going over the King's Hill pass on hwy 89.

This was elevation about 6500 feet. You can see the snow build up on the windshield. Yes, the defroster was on.
At one point, we were behind the snow plow with only one lane open. At elevation 7400 feet.

The scenery was absolutely beautiful

 Lots and lots of snow

We just went slow and no problem. Not bad for a Florida boy driving a Motor Home in the snow.
The next two days are supposed to be in the low 70s. Maybe we will take a side trip to East Glacier National Park.

It is apparent to me that snow follows you around like stink on a skunk! I guess it likes picking on an ol' Florida boy.

Actually we crossed the same pass a few weeks ago after an overnight dusting, but it was not snowing at the time we crossed, and we had no problem.

Drive carefully. I think we are going to make plans to stay a few nights on the Kenai when you are there.

Later,

Myron
