We visited 17 covered bridges in the last 2 weeks including the longest (613 feet) in the USA. We were able to drive thru all but 2. Most were on dirt roads way off the beaten track. We packed a lunch one day, had to use the car trunk for a picnic table, wine ,cheese and crackers.
We also visited several wineries. One had a resturant where we had lunch. we both had the Old Mill Burger. It is angus hamburger marinated in wine, cooked medium, with your choice of cheese melted on, smothered with sauted mushrooms and onions. Yum Yum. Cathy says and I agree, it is the best burger we have ever had. The winery is 12 miles from camp but we are going back again before we leave.
We are going to miss this place. Freddy has a place we can turn him loose and a small lake to play in, I have 4 lakes to fish in, we have plenty of places to take walks, lots of fresh fruit and lots of birds, Hummingbirds,yellow finches, red birds, black birds, robins, etc, in our campsite. I put out feeders. weather has been good, usually low 60s to high 70s. Today is the first day we have run the air conditioner or heater in a week.
