We finally got to VA. Last night we stayed in a very nice Elks lodge parking lot in Front Royal, VA. Had 30 amp power, very quiet and only 6 tenths of a mile from interstate 66. One other couple were staying there. We had a nice supper with them in the covered picnic area.
We are in Gloucester, VA at a Thousand Trails campground now, 165 miles driving today. We are parked facing the Piankatank River. Great view. I will post some pictures later. It runs directly into Chesapeake Bay.
We found a place that has soft shell crab sandwiches and crab cakes so we will be eating out a lot.
There is a lot of history here that we hope to explore. We are hoping to stay until after Labor Day but will have to wait and see if their are any openings.
Will post more later, Al
