We left Alabama's gulf coast Monday and went to Montgomery. Montgomery is a very interesting town. Also it is the first state capitol we have stayed in since motor homing. Some real notables have lived here, General Montgomery, Jefferson Davis, George Wallace, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Hank Williams, Emmy Lou Harris to name a few. It also was the capitol of the south during the Civil War.
We spent two days exploring Montgomery. Mainly I wanted to see the Hank Williams museum and grave site.
Left there and drove to Clinton, IN with an overnight stop at the Franklin, TN Walmart. The rains started after leaving Walmart and have continued thru today.
The park here has seven small lakes to fish in. Also there is about thirty covered bridges within fifty miles. We will be busy. We will be here until June 1.
More later. Al
