It looks like we will be leaving here without going to Dauphin Island. We decided not to be a hindrance to the oil cleanup. We did find two great restaurants. The first is owned by a retired football player, Bob Brumhauer and and is right on Mobile Bay . He played 10 years for the Dolphins, was one of the Killer Bees, and made the pro bowl 5 years. They have fried crawfish tails. During happy hour, we had fried crawfish tails, 6 large fried oysters, 8 conch fritters, sweet potato fries and two beers for $19.40. The other place, also locally owned featured country fried steak, yum, yum.
The park here has live music, games, $1.00 draft beers, cheap breakfasts, lunches, dinners and $9.00 ribeye steaks on Sat night.
We were torn on whether to go to Tupelo, MS or Montgomery, AL next. We decided to follow the Hank Williams trail so we will go to Montgomery. We leave Monday. About a 3 hour drive.
