Mount Airy, NC, what a great place to visit. We were scheduled to leave tomorrow but decided we needed another day here. There is so much to see here. The worlds largest open marble crater is here, Mayberry USA pattern is here, great restaurants are here, Blue Ridge Parkway is here, Andy Griffith and Donna Fargo museums are here and more. We talked to the owner of the Mayberry Campground, where we are staying, tonight. He is a 3rd generation descendent of one of the original Siamese Twins. They bought 300+ acres here and he bought what is left from his sisters. He has been RVing all his life and set up this campground. It is perfect. Set up by a RVer. The home of his ancestors, Eng and Chang Bunker, the original Siamese Twins, is on the grounds.
