Oklahoma

On to Oklahoma
This blog and the next one are very late, WIFI has been very slow where we have been.

Lock the door, start up and drive
past windmill farms
into Oklahoma
past oil wells and windmills
to Tinker AFB, our home for the week
Oklahoma City is the home of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum

Indian with squaw on horseback
and a horseless cowboy
Museum entrance

There is an "Old Town" here but not nearly the size of Wichita
Main Street
Cathy found the bar
I found the Marshall's office
Some of his weapons. Note the sawed off 12 Gauge lever action shotgun at the bottom.
After she left the bar, Cathy got arrested for public drunkenness
Ronald Reagan, the western actor is here
Charlton Heston as Will Penny
And of course, John Wayne
My favorite, End of the Trail
The first people in the west, The Plains People made up by many different tribes
 A couple of their saddles
Some of their gear, note the papoose carrier in the lower left.
more gear

Then the trappers and traders came

their gear
 the Calvary
 their gear

Gatling gun

 Charge
 Scout
Not sure but probably a buffalo hunter with his long range rifle

A section is dedicated to rodeo girls
One was Florence Hughes Randolph
She once defeated 13 men in Roman horse racing (standing on horseback)
Note the small size boot

Another was Lorena Trickey Peterson
She won bronc riding titles against men
also a trick rider
There are many more ladies in that section
And of course, the movie and TV section
Such as Tim McCoy, Hoot Gibson, Buck Jones
William Boyd (Hopalong Cassidy), Gene Autry and others
.

Gun Smoke has it's own section
Marshall Matt Dillon (James Arness)
Kitty (Amanda Blake)
Doc (Milford Stone)
Festus (Ken Curtis)
Barbara Stanwick (Big Valley)
Tom Selleck
Walter Brennan
Of course "The Duke" John Wayne
and many more.
Our favorite steak house, Cattleman's.
Next stop, the 30th anniversary of Safari International rally in Shawnee OK.
We had about 125 motorhomes there
 The banquet hall

Scene during a mystery play
open bar for "happy hour"
 food line
Brisket and chicken.
We had games of all sorts, entertainment, crafts, seminars and even a performance by some local Native Americans.

The family
He explained what the dances meant

first dance
her story being told
 stepped up a little

really fast dance

 Finally a group picture

An attention-grabbing discussion is value comment. I think that you need to write extra on this subject, it won't be a taboo topic however usually individuals are not sufficient to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers bovada casino
