Ark Encounter and Creation Museum
About the first 75 miles, the road is through the mountains and not the best of roads.
We passed through North Carolina and into Tennessee, still on mountain roads
I know it is not the Rocky Mountains but for a couple of Florida flatlanders it is pretty.
Some were pretty tight for a 41 foot RV towing a car.
Pretty scenery
Finally I-75 headed through the Cumberland Gap.
One of these days we are going to stop here and explore this area.
And into Kentucky where we will stay a few days.
The main thing we wanted to see here is the Ark Encounter.
It opened 36 days before we went. The first 40 days had longer hours.
Before I get too far, I want to apologize to both attractions. I can not do them justice in any blog. These are attractions that you have to see to appreciate them.
A lot of my friends know the Bible better than I do but I will add facts as I believe them.
The first view
God spells out to Noah the dimensions of the vessel: 300 cubits in length, 50 cubits in width and 30 cubits in height (450 × 75 × 45 ft per Wikipedia) The Ark Encounter says it is 510 x 85 x 51 ft.)
This was made to those exact dimensions.

This is a life size copy of a real dig. The figures move and talk to tell the story of that dig.
It was about how two people can interpret the clues. One said it happened during the flood and the other millions of years ago.

One thing we liked was that they gave both sides of Creation. This was how the universe was created.
According to the Bible, the Earth is 6020 years old.
According to science, it is 14 billion years old.

Exactly 5 months after the flood began, the Ark came to rest.
Then when humans would not disperse, God caused them to have different languages.
Then across the Ohio River
into Indiana
into Ohio
back into Indiana all within about 20 miles,
to Batesville, IN and our campsite for two weeks.
Last night the temps were in the 50s, so time for a campfire.
