Shipshawana, IN

Now it is time to head south, slowly. We have an appointment in Decatur, IN at the Monaco factory repair facility for some warranty work, Indiana here we come. It is a little over 600 miles to Shipshawana so we will spend 2 night on the road in a Walmart parking lot.

This day, we had the worse weather we have had since leaving FL.

It started out OK,

but then the rain started, rain and cross winds.

Cleared up the next day going into Illinois.

A crop duster spraying the fields around us.

One of the things I wanted to see here is the Hostetler's Hudson Auto Museum, the largest collection of Hudson's in the world.

Not sure how many, but a lot.

The first Hudson's were built in 1909.

a neat looking roadster.

it sold for $900.00.

I never figured out whether it was an 8 cylinder or a 4 cylinder with 2 spark plugs per cylinder. It is a 198 CID engine

1956, the last year of the Hudson.

This car is not restored. It has less than 10,000 miles on it. You can see a little wear on the seats but otherwise perfect.

It original sold for $2416.00

the engine is a 120 HP 6  cylinder with dual carbs.

Hudson also  made trucks of various sizes.

We did get to eat some Amish cooking and it was great. The best is the Amish Peanut Butter Spread.

What was even better was the Peanut Butter Pie made with this spread. We left town with a whole one in the fridge.

Another thing is the "Cronuts", square donuts made with croissant dough. OMG, how good that is.

We wanted to do some other things here but Freddy hurt his back. We got to see a vet  and got medicine but did not want to leave him alone. He is better now. We will be back.

Went to Decatur, Maintenance is done, we left
Decatur for Batesville where we will definitely have some fried chicken livers from Oldenburg.

The first day here, we did go to Ertel,s Winery for Baked Brae and Salmon platters.

And, I  am now caught up to where we are, Batesville, IN. We will be here almost 3 weeks then we will going to a rally in Marion, NC.
